...Giant's Causeway to Dunseverick Castle - beautiful cliff path walk taking in some of the most spectacular scenery of this area. It's a fairly easy walk which is about 7.3 km and it takes around 2 and half hours depending on the speed of your walking and how much you want to stop along the way.
...Portballintrae to Giant's Causeway is 4.3 km it is entirely off road walking. Walking Bushfoot Strand and around Runkerry Point about 1 hour of walking. You probably would want to return to Portballintrae following the railway track to the river bush and then cut across the sand dunes bringing you back to Partballintrae.
...Dunseverick to Ballintoy Harbour - 7.8 km 2 and half hours of beautiful walking

Dark Hedges

The Dark Hedges has become very popular with Game of Thrones fans. We are a 10 minute drive from this beautiful site. We all want to preserve these trees for generations to come so all visitors on Game of Thrones Tours are being asked to walk up the avenue of trees and not drive their car. A tree has just fallen down on Saturday night 26 January 2019 after very strong winds. It is reported that many visitors are still driving their cars up the avenue of the Dark Hedges and it is suggested that this may be weakening the roots and causing trees to fall. These trees have been here for 200 years and we want to have the Dark Hedges for many years to come. If you agree send a message to me. Enjoy planning your trip and if I can help you further please contact me. Valerie
Book early to avoid disappointment. We have our special offer during March. Stay 3 nights for £150 for 2 people. There is so much to do in this area. You may want wish to go to the Riverside Theatre in Coleraine which is performing the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from 15 January - 2 February 2019. Always a brilliant show.
There are lots of walks to do during the day at Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, White park Bay beach. White rocks beach, Portrush, Portstewart, Castlerock, Downhill. These are all beautiful walks on the coast. Book early and we will guide you on how to best enjoy your time in this area around Bushmills.
Stay at Valley View Bushmills during March for only £150 for 2 people sharing for 3 nights. Valley View is close to the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Bushmills Distillery, Dunluce Castle and the famous Game of Thrones Dark Hedges. We, that is Maynard and Valerie are always on hand to give information about the best way to visit the local sites. We have maps, information leaflets and all the details you need for a great stay at Valley View. One of the things we like doing best is to sit down and plan your day to visit all the local attractions. Its always important to go to the busiest sites first before the tour buses arrive. We usually suggest going to the Dark Hedges straight after breakfast, then go across the country following the road to Ballintoy where you will find the Rope Bridge and also Ballintoy Harbour which is also a site where filming was done for the Game of Thrones. There is one of the doors in the Fullerton Arms Hotel in Ballintoy village. Make your way along the beautiful Causeway coast road and visit the Giant's Causeway. You can do this without paying the fee it is free to go to the Giant's Causeway. We can explain this all to you. Your day may have come to an end as it will be getting dark around 5.00 pm. The next day you can spend some time at the Dunluce Castle and of course the world famous Bushmills Distillery tour. There are many more amazing places to visit, eg the Mussenden Temple, Hazlette House, Glenarriff Forest Park and lots of beautiful beaches right along the Causeway Coastal Route which are amazing to walk on during Winter or Summer. Of course Valley View is only a 1 hour drive from Belfast and Londonderry/Derry. Or if you wish to go by train you can park at the local train station only 10 minutes away and take a relaxing train ride to either of these cities.
Come and enjoy special rates at Valley View during September and October 2018

I've just had my Northern Ireland Tourist Board Star Rating inspection. It all went really well and they were very impressed with Valley View. I am now scoring a 5 star standard getting 90% and to achieve Five Star you must be 85% and above. I have chosen to stay as a 4 star bed and breakfast at the moment as I have some choices to make regarding increasing my prices and the type of market I advertise to. If any of you have any comments to make on this I would find this very helpful. We are staying as a Four Star accommodation for the moment but may choose to go for Five Star accommodation in the future. We are close to the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, The Dark Hedges and Dunluce Castle and there are not many 5 Star accommodations in this area. So it might be a good choice to make to go with the Five Star accommodation. I offer a lot of what Five Star Bed and Breakfasts offer at the moment and make my own homemade breads, including soda scones, pancakes and wheaten bread plus my own jams and marmalade. I use fresh locally produced produce for the breakfast. Sourcing the eggs, bacon, sausages and as many of the products locally is very important to me running a High Quality bed and breakfast.
I would have to increase my prices if I moved to a five star accommodation. But I feel we are giving value for money and that is what many people want to have. A good high quality accommodation at a value for money price. Any comments on this would be very helpful. Thank you
At Valley View close to Bushmills and the Giant's Causeway we make our own Irish Soda Bread. In this part of Ireland we call it Wheaten Bread. This is a special Irish Bread made with wholemeal flour, baking soda and buttermilk with a little bit of butter added. This is my favourite bread and I make it 2 or 3 times per week and serve it with the breakfast in the morning. This Irish Soda Bread or Wheaten Bread freezes really well and can be eaten with every meal of the day. We serve it at Valley View with butter and homemade rhubarb and strawberry jam. If anyone would like to have my recipe you may email me directly and I can give that to you on info@valleyviewbushmillsaccommodation.com . This favourite Irish Soda bread recipe is so easy to make and you can't really go wrong when making it. In Ireland we also eat this bread at lunch time with a large bowl of homemade soup or vegetable broth. Then in the summer we would serve our Irish Soda Bread with a nice salad with homemade coleslaw and locally sourced hams, chicken, tomatoes and other salad vegetables.
When you decide to visit the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, Dunluce Castle, the dark hedges and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge you can come and stay at Valley View Bushmills Bed and Breakfast and we will serve you some of our homemade wheaten bread with homemade jam and a freshly brewed pot of tea or coffee when you arrive to stay in the afternoon. A true Irish welcome awaits you at Valley View Country House. Send me your email address and I will send you a recipe. Also in exchange for your email address I will ask if I can send you other information about special offers at Valley View.

This is one of our newly refurbished bedrooms. We have put in new furniture and furnishings from Laura Ashley. My recent tourist board inspector indicated that this was 5 star standard. Hope you will reserve a room and hopefully enjoy the comfort.
This is what we encountered when heading down to Ballintoy Harbour on a tour with our guests last week. We also visited The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, Port Bradden, Dunluce Castle, Bushmills Distillery and the Dark Hedges. We had a great day
There was an open day at the Giant's Causeway today and it was so much fun.
